When did your doctor clear you to have sex again?

I'm 5 weeks post partum but my doctor said I am healed up nicely and he cleared me to have sex but I always heard to wait 6 weeks. Is this okay? Did anyone else's doctor give them the go ahead before 6 weeks?

I did have stitches but they dissolved completely at 3 weeks and everything is healed

Did you have stitches? My midwife didn't clear me until 6 weeks because I had stitches

If they give you the go-ahead then you're good. 6 weeks is just what you should expect.

My midwife did my check up at 4 weeks instead of 6 (idk why but that's their standard) and she cleared me then! I think 6 weeks is just usually when you have your checkup and you are supposed to wait for that to be cleared.

Whenever your dr clears you is fine. Just be super super careful as you're incredibly fertile right now!
