SAHM - Physically So Hard!!!!!!
One week ago I quit my super stressful corporate executive job to become a stay at home mom. It wasn't something I was planning on, but my son's health has been problematic and it was a decision we had to make due to his health. Suddenly I have gone from a desk job and having my son at daycare for 9 hours a day, to being home with him full time. There are tons of wonderful times but DAMN .....******applause******* to all the stay at home moms out there. It is so hard!!!!!!!!! Much harder than I imagined. He is physically strong, extremely strong-willed, fights naps, thrashes on the changing table, and is 26lbs at 10 months old and I feel bruised and beaten. My back is on fire. My arms are bruised. My legs are so tired. My feet ache. How do you guys do this???! And with more than one child???! . . or with your husband on deployment??!! Or while pregnant?!! You guys are superheros. Just giving him a bath tonight I feel like I tore a muscle. And while pacing around swaying him for 45 minutes to get him to settle down for a nap, I swear I sweatt more than I ever did at a gym. ******(I am not discrediting women who work. I'm just commenting on how much harder this is physically on my body than I thought it would be and how much my body is out of shape and really hurting.) List of injuries: extreme lower back pain, sprained wrist, two bite-mark bruises, multiple chunks of missing hair from my scalp, busted lip from an accidental head bang, and a bruised ego.
