Does your boyfriend/husband have a bad temper like mine??

Question

Anytime my boyfriend and I get into what should be a small argument,  he just blows up!  He starts cussing and going on a rant. And then he always ends up throwing something.  It keeps getting worse each time we argue. 
He promised he would quit. But it just doesn't stop. I'm afraid he could become abusive if he doesn't stop this. I just don't know what to do or say. Today I told him that if he can't control his temper than he needs to leave. We have been together for almost 2 years. I am 21 and he is 24. Anytime I ask a simple question when we are arguing,  he freaks out like I did something so horrible.  But when he cusses at me or throws his phone its like no big deal to him.
Any advice for me? Please.

Sounds like he lacks communication skills and emotional maturity. He needs to learn to express his frustrations without loosing control. You are doing the right thing. My bf wasn't like this, but I was. I struggled with the feelings of anger and if we argued I got defensive, until after long talks with my bf I realised it was from fears of conflict and being left. So I would act out to kind of protect myself. Sounds silly now. I worked through it though and perhaps he can too.

All I can say is stand your ground. If he does it again, you need to make him leave. Empty threats won't change anything. Some people have bad tempers but would never be abusive so I don't think they're mutually exclusive. But if you're ever uncomfortable or feel unsafe, stick to your guns and tell him you need time apart until he calms down.

My bf has anger issues. Whenever something doesnt go his way he will yell, and punch the walls, throw things. If i do something that annoys him and we have an arguments he yells at me, calls me a bitch, and doesnt listen to a word i say and his face will change and he honestly looks like he wants to hit me. He tells me he would never hit me and he said he will stop getting mad over dumb stuff and work on his anger issues.. but idk.

From my experience, it doesn't get any better without counseling. My ex used to punch holes in walls and doors, it was terrifying.

Mine has had previous anger issues but never ever hits or throws. He yells more than he realizes until I say Hey stop yelling, then he realizes he is and he calms down. He just goes quiet when he's angry.

Does he take steroids?! May be a dumb question but my s/o acted the day way found out he was on steroids and I told him it's me or the roids choose! He chose me and everything is better now

My fiancé is a cranky ass and gets irrationally angry over small things. But he doesn't throw things or hit things (once in 7 years he's hit a wall). I've never feared that he was abusive. He just has a bad temper, so do his parents.

However if you fear your man may be abusive, he needs to see a councillor. Or get some anger management. You shouldn't feel unsafe.

I would tell him that he needs to get into counseling and or anger management classes to learn a new way to cope with his anger because whether or not your relationship survives is completely dependent upon that and his ability to change the behavior. You won't tolerate it and don't want to be with somebody with an anger problem.
