How often should baby poop?

Hi ladies!
I'm a FTM, my baby girl is 2 months and is formula fed. Sometimes she goes everyday but there's days that she will go a day or two without doing number 2. Is this normal? Baby's doctor said it's ok but my mother and friends have told me she should be popping everyday. My MIL keeps insisting I give her water to help her poop but that's something I don't want to do.

Never give a baby that young water. It can cause problems (can't remember what it's called lol). If she starts to act like it hurts then I'd call the doctor again. They could give you advice to help her go.

A formula fed baby can go up to 5 days without pooping and this is normal. If baby's belly becomes distended/hard, they are inconsolably fussy, or develop a fever that is when to worry. Also please do not give them water! Definitely not safe.

As long as your doctor says it's okay then it's okay. My lo had gone about 2 days without pooping before then had a big blowout. Sometimes they just hold off, she is 2 months as well. Don't give her water unless the pediatrician tells you to

My son can go daily for weeks and then all of a sudden go 2+ days with nothing. My health visitor said it's normal and as long as it isn't solid then baby isn't constipated. We find a bath encourages him to go or moving his legs in a bicycle motion.

I know with breastfed babies they can go several days without any issue but I do believe with formula they should go daily. But if the doctor says every 1-2 days is fine and your baby isn't in any discomfort then I wouldn't worry too much at all
