Did you ever read to your kids as babies and toddlers? And did it make a difference as growing up?

My baby is almost 5MO she has two baby books I read them hear and there but was wondering if they really teaches them certain things just like everyone says?

Reading to your children is Incredibly important. I can tell which of my students were read to as a child and which ones haven't through their writing. It doesn't mean a child not read to is stupid or anything, but it greatly improves their mastery of language and complex situations and problem solving. 📚

I've been reading to my baby since we conceived it lol I'm 16w and just got an update that baby can recognize mine and hubbys voice 💞 makes my heart skip! We're reading the baby Harry Potter right now hoping it'll be a harry potter nerd like us 😉 it's very important for many reasons!

It's so important to read to your child and you can tell which children are read to and which aren't. My baby is 5m and I wanted to start reading at bedtime but that didn't work for us because he was to fussy. We read after his afternoon and he loves it. He likes to listen to my voice while looking at the pictures and we cuddle.

I'm expecting my first however I remember my dad and mom reading to me at kid.  I'm an avid reader now and my reading compression was almost five grades ahead of where I needed to be growing up.  I honestly believe my parents reading to me and teaching early had a lot to do with that.

I read to my LO while he was still in my belly. Now, he's almost 18 months & I still try to read to him every day. He loves it.

I never read to my first born while she was in utero, and would read to her occasionally as she got older. She basically learned to read on her own. Now I know that sounds horrible but currently she's top reader and speller in her 2nd grade class and can comprehend at a 4th grade level. Also if she needed help while reading I wouldn't hesitate and helped her along the way. I don't feel as if it really made a difference or not to read to her at a younger age.
