Medicine for a cold?

So yesterday I woke up with a sore throat, didn't think much of it and figured it was from the dryness of the heater and that it would pass. Went about my day and was totally fine until late last night where I began to have a bad headache :/. So this morning I wake up with the scratchy throat again, watery eyes and some congestion :(. Was googling medicines I can and can't take and now I'm just kind of at a loss on what to take. Normally I just let things pass, but with being pregnant I feel like I should get it taken care of faster than not. Anyway just wanted to see if anyone else has taken any OTC medicines that helped them out. I've read some things that say you can take Zyrtec and other reports that you can't. Thanks!
