coloring hair?

Anyone still coloring their hair while pregnant? I'm 9 weeks and finally feel up to getting my hair done.

My doctor said hair dyes were okay as long as no bleaching.

Anyone else still coloring their hair while pregnant? I was thinking of maybe waiting until after first trimester just to be safe.

I was never told no bleaching. I was told as long as you're in a well ventilated room it's safe. Of course you have to be careful with bleach because if you leave it too long you'll get a chemical burn which isn't good but I'm 17 weeks and bleached/dyed my hair 3 times

Nope but also use ammonia free if you can't wait

I'm a hairstylist and I'm pregnant. It's ok to color your hair as long as the color line being used doesn't have a strong ammonia odor. Wells, joico, Kendra, the ones I use don't have a very strong one. Just ask the hairstylist.

There's nothing wrong with doing your hair when your pregnant. Why that became a thing is because your hair can come out different than expected when your pregnant.

My midwife told me to wait until after first trimester just to be safe. She said there aren't any studies relating to birth defects/etc to having your hair done, but she said it's a pretty simple precaution you could take. I was a little sad when I had to reschedule my appointment, I was finally not nauseous and reaaallllyyylooking forward to it hahaha
