how do you guys put your babies to sleep?

Question

She gags on her back, makes me feel like she is choking.
I know she is not supposed to be on her side or tummy, so def not doing that. 
What about swaddling? Yay or nay? 
Haven't slept since she's been here, just stay up with her.. tips please

I would call your pediatrician about the gagging but I just took an EMS class about baby safety and they said it's actually very difficult for a baby to choke on spit up. Because of the way their airway is positioned when they're laying on their back if they spit up it should end up going back down their esophagus into their stomach rather than into their airway. I am not a medical professional so I would also ask your doctor about that.

In the class they also showed us medical examiner pictures from homes where babies had passed away due to suffocation from being placed in unsafe sleep positions. So sad! I'm still shocked at the amount of people that ignore the guidance!

I tried sooo many things. Sleep blanket, bassinet, sleeper at an incline, swing... He's almost 3 weeks old & sleeps best if swaddled with his arms out and is proped up in his boppy. Honestly keep trying different things. What works one night might be different the next.

If your baby is gagging on their back talk to your doctor, that is unusual. The only way my daughter would sleep was if she was swaddled, it's definitely worth a try!

My 2nd had issues throwing up in the night and it use to scare me so i always swaddled him but he slept in a rock and play so he was more upright and on his side. That helped me sleep better

My son would only sleep on his tummy. That or I'd have to hold him and never put him down. I know it's not recommended but it was the only thing that worked for him and I never left him unattended. Rules are constantly changing, something that was safe last year could be considered dangerous this year. Try different things. Sometimes you can't always do thing by the book, sometimes you have to do what works for you.

Not sure. I'd definitely let her pediatrician know that she's having difficulty breathing on her back, could mean she has issues with her airway. Definitely something to make sure about

Lay on back. Swaddling is good for some babies and not for others. Give it a try and see if it works.
