Do you know how to French braid?

Question

So for the past 5 years or so I've been trying to braid my own hair and I can't do it. I know how to braid but I can't French braid and it's killing me! Lol. Last time I tried I spent about 2 hours trying and I ended up with messy hair and sore arms. Do you know how to French braid? IF So ladies how'd you learn how to French braid?

Learned when I was 5. I braid my own hair a lot since I've been natural for over a year now. Wasn't hard at all I braid my daughters hair every 2 weeks as well.

I learned when I realized it was the same thing as what I learned to do on horse tails. It's much easier to do on a person head after you've done it standing at a horse butt

I just watched someone do it. Take a chunk of hair from the top of your head braid it a little. Then use the braid as the middle piece for the new braid. Pick up one chunk of hair from the left and the right of the braid. Use those three pieces to braid. Then do the same thing until you have no hair left to pick up.

I can do my own with ease, but it wasn't always that way. Your arms will hurt A LOT at first, but you'll get used to it with lots of practice.

I learned how to braid really young and then French braiding in middle school. Then I practiced different braids on my sister who had super long hair at the time. It took me forever to French braid my own hair. I honestly watched a few YouTube videos of people French braiding their own hair to see how they did it and what techniques they used. I eventually got it. Took a while for it to come out nice, now I'm a pro at it. Sadly I still haven't figured out how to give myself a French fishtail on myself either.
