Today my beautiful son Brody was born at 1:41 pm at 39 weeks and 2 days. He weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and was 19.5 inches long. We got to the hospital at 7am and started pictocin at 9a. I was already 3.5 cm and 70% thinned out. As I walked the halls and bounced on the birth ball nothing happened. 12pm the doctor came in and decided it was okay to break my water. Up went the hook and down came the goosh. It all started from there. I walked for about 15 minutes and sat on the ball for another 50ish. The ball was the only thing to relieve the intense back labor I had. I called for an epidural and by 1:25 the anaesthesiologist came to insert the epi. It was in by 1:35pm but had no time to administer a drop because my baby boy was ready. The nurse called the doctor who had to come running and my poor husband who almost missed it (he was sent to the waiting room for the epidural part) and 6 minutes and 4 pushes later I heard the beautiful sound of a healthy loud very lively baby boy.
