If my Water breaks???

Question

I live about almost an hr away from my hospital  where I will be delivering our baby boy. With my first pregnancy i was induced due to low amniotic fluid at 36 weeks. I'm now 37 weeks this time around hoping my body does its job.

If my water breaks, will I still have time to shower and get to the hospital? (I have my bags & everything else ready) I've never had my water break on its own so I just wonder how it would be if I still had time to do this I don't want to go in all stinky & stuff lol I know random!! 😅😅😅

Every birth is different, some women are in labor ages before their water breaks and some don't break at all. Sometimes your water breaks before you go into labor aswell. I was in labor for 12 hours before my waters broke and my daughter wasn't born for another 48 hours after that. I think you'll know at the time if you have time for a shower and if not you can always shower at the hospital 😊

Different for everyone.... but usually if your water breaks you deginayely have time to take a shower and wait for contractions to start..... my friend had her water break in the evening.... she took a shower and called in.... they said to come in once contractions would start but to come in by 9am the next morning if ever no contractions came.... so she had a goid night sleep and contractions started in the morning just as she was about to go in for the 9am timming...... so i believe you would have time......  but remember only like 5% of labours start with water breaking, its pretty rare....

Yes you'll have time. My water broke at 5am in the middle of a snow storm. Got to the hospital at 7. Everything was fine. I didn't start going into labor until a couple hours after I got to the hospital anyway. Don't worry! Also, I read that only 10% of women have the water break spontaneously
