spotting after IUD insertion

okay so i got my iud placed 2 weeks ago! the first couple of days i was still on my period so i was bleeding from that. after i got off my period, i have been spotting ever since. it's mostly brown blood that i spot, but it's super frustrating because i now feel like i have been on my period for 3 weeks. i am recently single and have started dating around again, and i'm embarassed that i'm spotting...i can't just tell a guy i am on my period constantly...and i kind of want to get some but i constantly have to wear a pad (if i don't i ruin my underwear) what is your advice on how to deal with sexual activity and iud spotting (i am a virgin, but i enjoy doing other things) and also how long does the spotting usually last? i just feel disgusting everyday because of it. any advice or tips would be great! thanks :-)
