"I can do anything better than you"
Am I the only one who gets super irritated when women say, "I can do anything a man can do!" or anything along those lines??
NO! I can't do everything a man can do! I'm a woman! Yeah, I can work like a dog in the heat all day long. I may not like math, but I can configure large problems and I manage any accounting issues in my home. I can work on cars, I can do construction, I'm a decent glazier, I can tow a 30' trailer if I have to. I can paint, I can mud, I can put a roof on the house. But a hard working man can probably outwork me easily. And that's ok.
I don't do those much anymore because I'm a mother of two toddlers now. I stay home and cook, clean, and take care of my babies. Men can do that too, and that's ok.
Yes, I have the physical capabilities that pretty much every human has. But I also have the ability to create life. Wait...no I have to have a male donation to do that. We go hand in hand. We all have specialties. We all have skills that we've developed over time. And I understand the underlying concept of the statement. It just seems like somewhere along the way people have forgotten that men and women are different and have different talents. Women need to stop comparing to men; we are freaking awesome! If we need to step up and take a "man's" job we can, but we can also do a "woman's" job with pride. There's nothing wrong with that. Labels are just labels.
The main reason I went on this rant is because of all the woman shaming!! If a woman has a great career; that's wonderful. If she's finding her way, that's fantastic. If she's staying home with babies, that's great too. If a woman is happy with her life and what she's doing, we are suppose to be supportive. Not judgmental and rude.
Apologies for the long post...needed to get off my bosom.👌🏻✌🏻
