What was your experience with the Ameda electric double breast pump?

breast pump?" /> Ordered my breast pump through my insurance, who only covers the Ameda pump. Was really hoping they covered the Medela, but will obviously give the free pump a try before going and buying a Medela because why spend the money if it's not necessary? Was just curious what some pros and cons were of the Ameda pumps and what some of your overall experiences were with them.

It works just fine. Just make sure you check for any leaks in the membranes periodically. I thought my motor was going cause suction wasn't as good, turns out the membranes were wearing out... Replaced them and it worked just fine again.

It was okay. My friend let me borrow it before mine came in the mail. I got a spectra through my insurance and bought a medela. The medela is better then that one but the spectra is better then both of them. The spectra can be cheaper online so if you end up buying one I would buy that one. If you're set in a medela though, order duckbills to go with it. The spectra comes with them already.
