PCOS, etc :(
So, a few weeks ago, I posted about super inconsistent periods. I haven't had a period since July. So I finally went to my doctor and she did a few tests and my thyroid test came back normal. However, she said that my insulin levels are extremely high and that I am highly insulin resistant. She prescribed metformin, which is an anti-diabetic med. She also said that because my thyroid is fine and I have the insulin resistance, that I have PCOS.
I am really upset by all of this and I am looking for some support. Can anyone share their experience with PCOS, insulin issues (does this mean I'm diabetic???), or metformin?
