Considering changing doctors ?
So I am highly considering changing my obgyn at the practice I go to if they'll let me. My current doctor is a guy, and I've always liked male doctors for some reason it seemed to me like they listened more to what I had to say as a family medicine doctor. Well, after having an amazing female doctor deliver my baby I am highly considering switching to her. She actually talked to me and didn't blow off what I was saying. I kept telling my male doctor throughout my whole pregnancy that I felt off. I was retaining water badly. I was swollen all over. My blood pressure was high at about every visit from second trimester on. I was exhausted, and just slept all day and sat around watching tv and when I would try and do house work I was winded or even just walking to the car or going grocery shopping. I would tell the nurse and him all of this. Basically all the females in my family had blood pressure problems throughout every pregnancy. My sister had to be induced..mother and grandmother had to be induced for it. They were aware of this. My last prenantal appointment with him they let me leave with a blood pressure of 150/100 with a follow up with their nurse practitioner on Wednesday because my doctor would be out of office. He said don't worry about anything there's no protein in your urine just go home on bedrest. I told him again I haven't done anything today. He just blew it off. I met with the nurse practitioner on Wednesday and my blood pressure was still high not as high but high. She ordered a 24 hour urine test, and a lab to draw blood. Well guess what? She called me Friday afternoon to tell me I have pre eclampsia and I need to come in as soon as possible to start inducement. Crazy. I ended up getting to the hospital at 545, and was in labor for 24 hours and pushed for 30 minutes. Had a healthy baby girl! She was born at 5:41 so not quite 24 hours haha!
