Don't know what to call you!!! My hubby and I are seriously contemplating a move from NJ to AZ, around the Chandler area. Anyone know it/live there. Looking for info. Is it built up? What's it like? Expensive?

I moved here from Idaho three years ago and compared to there,it's not much more expensive,gas is like $1.70 a gallon right now lol,we don't have food tax which is nice. I imagine it's cheaper living here than nj

Chandler is a really good area, between there and Scottsdale. I'd say stay away from pheonix (I've lived here my entire life and I'm still scared of it there). But otherwise the weather is pretty good except may-August is kindof hot. But if you drink lots of water you get used to it.

I have lived here on the surface of hell for most of my life lol. i used to love it, but then moved away and realized what normal places were like lol. I currently live in chandler, in a very nice area, there are definitely shady places in chandler to stay away from though. I have lived in many places around the east valley (Tempe, chandler, Mesa, ahwatukee,etc) and one place in the west valley too. Stuff to do?? Idk, depends on what you are in to. their isn't much "culture" compared to the east coast etc and most of the night life is in Scottsdale (Beverly Hills of AZ), I would imagine that it is MUCH cheaper than the east coast, (even Scottsdale, maybe). Most of the year is very nice weather, except for the summer (April/May-August/Sept) which is pretty unbearable and people spend most of the time bouncing between air conditioned places (we use the AC year round)

I live in north west Phoenix. It's a ways from chandler but like the other girls said there are some bad areas of chandler. Stay away from central Phoenix and Glendale. It's hot but I'm a native and I love it. My husbands from New Hampshire and he loves it too.

I live in south tempe. Really close to chandler. It's built up. I'm pretty sure it's much cheaper than nj. I love it! It's beautiful here.

I live right outside chandler. It really depends on where in chandler you move. Some parts arent the greatest areas

anything outdoors in the summer is usually done super early in the am "before it gets hot" bc even after the sun sets in the summer it's still 100 degrees, that being said, a lot of people adjust well, and love it here. send me your email if you want more details about stuff ;)
