Anyone have helpful tips for tampons?

I'm having trouble with using tampons. Anyone have any helpful tips or secrets that they use? What's a good method for a beginner?

Bend a bit at the knees, like a semi-squat and angle it in that way. Putting it straight in most likely will be uncomfortable and you'll get resistance. Read the instructions. Use plastic applicator ones, and start with the smallest size (light or regular) until you become used to it. Change them every 4-6 hours. To take them out it is usually easy to get in the squat position again and just pull the strong. Never flush your tampons. Use a bit of lube on the tip of the applicator if you need to when inserting it. Good luck!

I usually insert the tampon with one leg up on the bathtub ledge. For me I have to make sure the tampon is inserted straight up and down. It's uncomfortable for me to have the tampon inserted at an angle. I also make sure it far enough inside me otherwise it pinches. I usually tug it a couple of times after I insert it .

Your vagina might not be perfectly straight. It could angle to the right or left, for example. So if it seems to not slide easily straight up or back, try tilting it slightly.
