I had an appointment about this yesterday... I had read about the negative possibilities that come along with a copper IUD and it sucks because it would by fair be my preferred option. But I don't think I should put my body at risk now. They say once you have a regular sex life and sex is a part of your routine (so not every now and then), it will be safer to put one in but doing so before having your first child can lead to disadvantages.... There's a list, the most important are:
-ectopic pregnancy 
-spreading infection 
-IUD moving and being lost without knowing 
-permanent blockage of one or both Fallopian tubes.

As someone who hasn't had their first child yet, those are all major turn-offs. The IUD was my first option because of it being long lasting and hormone free. But I was assured that there are newer, better developed pills on the market that would suit me perfectly. I got a script for Qlaira, it is the only BC with estrogen levels that match those in your body. Isn't meant to impact hormone levels, skin or weight.

I hope that I helped, keep in mind you can always try a temporary form of BC and change your mind if it doesn't suit you.

Once you reach 12/13 the HIPPA (think that's how you abbreviate it) starts. I read it in my babies paper work at the doctor. It said when he reaches 12/13 that they won't disclose certain info without his consent.

Im 32 and because i dont have a child most docs here wont place one due to the risk of possible infertility. However the implant is three bars in the arm and are good for 3 years is definitely an option and can and will be done at any age baby or no.
