being induced???

Question

When will she actually be born? I'm due march 6th, but going to be induced on February 28th due to a blood clot.. currently 34 weeks! So exited and nervous!! But not sure if she will be here on the 28th or the 1st?? Any advice?

I got induced with my 1st around 9pm and he was born 6am the next morning. I was 40wks with a favouable cervix so that probably helped.
My SIL was induced and didn't have hers until 3 days later by csection so it really varies!

With our son I went in the night of September 9th for cervidil. Started pitocin the next morning. He wasn't actually here until we had to do a c section September 12th at 1:30 am. It's impossible to guess.

With our first, we went in the evening of March 12 and got checked in to labor and delivery. They gave me a cervical softener. The next morning, they started pitocin and the doctor came to break my water around 6am. Our some was born the same day, March 13th, at 2:46pm.

It truly depends on your body and baby. My inductions have always been short whereas my sisters were long. Just roll with it and take it in stride. If it takes longer that's okay as long as baby is healthy and you are healthy.

It depends on if they have a bed available for you. They'll have you call in the morning to make sure they have a bed available. With my first, I was induced, and I thought that morning I'd go to the hospital. I didn't go in until that night. With my friend, it took a couple days. And like the other woman said, it also depends on how your baby and body react to the pitocin. I didn't feel like I went into active labor until they broke my water. Which was hours after starting pitocin. Another factor is if you have tested for your group B strep and have it. They have to give you antibiotics through your IV for at least 4 hours...(I think... but don't quote me on hours).... before you have the baby. There are so many factors going into having a baby and being induced, you really don't know. So just go with the flow... and try not to stress on the day. Concentrate on the important things like your body and baby.
