What am I doing wrong??

Question

3 month old can hardly hold head up. What am I doing wrong here. We try tummy time but she hates it and doesn't last long.

Ours hates tummy time too. I always hold her upright against my chest as I walk around and she practices holding her head up that way too. Don't sweat it too much the developmental milestones are ranges not set in stone.

You can try having tummy time on you . Baby might hate lay flat

My son hates tummy time but has a rather large head and I'm sure it's not easy to lift that thing very long. After going to a baby/mommy class I learned an easier transition for tummy time and since we've been doing that, my son can actually hold his head up high during tummy time. The teacher explained if you go from holding baby and put baby down on tummy they go into reflex mode and immediately get upset. If you put baby down on their back and then gently take an arm and turn baby on their side to roll onto their tummy they start lifting their head while they roll then tuck their arms under their armpits in an army crawl position and that will help them "push up" to hold their head up. We've been doing it for a few weeks and can tell a huge difference!

Our hates tummy time too!! You're totally not alone we just try it for like 2 min and give him a rest then after he's calm, try again. I also put a little airplane neck pillow under his armpits so he's lifted (it seems to put less pressure on his belly) and he still pushed off his arms or I lay him over my leg so he's lifted as well. Try those positions Maybe the'll help?!?

Airplane is good i do that as we walk about the house. If i have him up on my shoulder i make sure hes high enough so he has to support head. Tummy to tummy tummy time he loves face to face and he lays on my shins too. I just stopped helping him so much so he had to engage muscles. Hope that helps

I think the little pillow (or rolled up blanket) helped my baby enjoy tummy time a bit more. I always wait until he is in a good mood before doing it too. I also try to entertain and distract him during tummy time.

My LO doesn't like. Or has great arms strength either. I think it's because I don't do it too often due to her reflux but head control on my knee or walking around with her up on my shoulder she's brill, a mum told me theirs went straight to walking with furnature ratherthan crawling because of shame reason, so I will keep doing tummy time on day a little like I have always x

What am I doing wrong??
