Was anyone told that if their placenta didn't move they would need a c- section? If you were, did you end up needing one?

It's called placenta previa and it's when the placenta covers your cervix. If it doesn't move (which can happen as your belly grows) it means that when you go into labor and your cervix dilates it will detach the placenta and cause the baby to lose its blood and oxygen supply while still in the uterus. So if it doesn't move really the only way to guarantee a healthy baby is to have a c-section.

Yes, my second pregnancy I had complete placenta previa(what you are describing) and I  had to have a c-section.

Yes, my doc said that my placenta is not covering the cervix but is little away from it when I was 20 weeks,, and I might have c section if it will not move up. Now, I am 26 weeks and in the next ultrasound at 32 weeks... they will decide what should be done. I also had an ultrasound at 22 weeks... and they said that it's ok and it will probably be moving up. So, no worries. M perfectly ok till now... means no bleeding, no cramps. Thank god.

My son implanted low and I had to stop having sex for about a month. My doctor said if it didn't migrate I could get placenta previa and would need a c section. It ended up moving, but at 36 weeks my son went breech and I had to have a c section anyway.
