HPV confusion

I've been seeing this guy who I have fallen for and I'm very cautious about having sex so we haven't yet. We have however done pretty much everything else, including oral and grinding our genitals together without protection. I recently found out that he had HPV which he claims is cleared up now. How concerned should I be for my own health and was it wrong for him to not tell me about this?

Ps. I have not noticed an warts/sores on myself or him

Also I never had the HPV vaccine
