Vocal cord paralysis

Stefanie • I`m 28 years old and happily married and have 4 children. 3 girls and a newborn boy!
I went to an ENT today and Just found out that my left vocal cord is paralysed. I haven't been able to talk very well for 3 weeks and counting and kinda choke on liquids when I drink, etc. She hasn't been able to see any cysts from looking in my throat, but ordered a CAT scan to get a better look next week. I do not have a sore throat, fever, cough etc. I feel perfectly fine. Just can't talk very well, choke when drinking liquids a little bit, and when I burp, acid comes up into my mouth. I do not have acid reflux. Has anyone else had this problem? Did u ever get your voice back? What was the cause? Hoping I don't have cancer. ...by the way I'm 27 and healthy as far as I know. And just found out I'm pregnant. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
