what made you know you were in labor?

I believe I have lost my mucus plug, and may go into labor soon. What signs gave it away to you that you were in labor? My husband is accusing me of being stubborn and not being able to recognize the signs.

Plug has nothing to do with labor unfortunatly.

I knew I was in labor because the cramping I felt wasn't going away even though I got in a hot bath.

Water broke 5 days after I lost my plug. I had zero pain for 6 hrs after my water broke. Active labor 4hrs, pushed an hour.

Water broke. I had a c section 2 hours later and never felt any contractions

For me it was contractions. My water never broke until after I have reached to the hospital.
