How is marriage since baby?

Out of curiosity I'm asking if anyone elses marriage has been strained since our babies arrived? Husband and I have literally been on the verge of divorce for months but not all relating to baby. Some has to do with MIL issues and him letting it continue but also not stepping up and being a dad. He also kicked us out of the bedroom so we wouldn't wake him at night so we have been sleeping in separate rooms for almost 5 months now. After months of doing it all on my own I realized I don't need his help anyway and then he realized that as well and finally started helping out. Just wondering if anyone else has seen strains in their marriage?

Did you have these types of problems prior to baby? Such as anger, feelings of resentment, etc? In the years prior to our marriage we had tough times but eventually both grew up & straightened out by communicating with each other. FF to now with a baby & things are pretty smooth for the most part & our bond may be even stronger. Of course we have some stressful days but we take them on as a team now instead of the "me vs you" mentality. Its not easy but its possible. I hope things get better for you & your family ❤️

At first we were rocky as hell because he was shipped off for a few months, but now that he's home, we're hot and heavy for each other! We're going at it at least 4 times a week, and the romance is still strong too! We talk through everything, and anytime we start to fight, we work through it (it takes some time though) but we're stronger than ever! Our son brought us closer, and we love each other more now 😊

Stronger then ever. He's very hands on with our two kids and he was incredibly supportive when I struggled with PPD after my April baby was born. I honestly feel like we'll stay married the rest of our lives, we perfectly balance each other out.

My soon to be ex husband moved out of the house when our son was 5 1/2 months old. He asked for a divorce right away. We've been together over 10 years and married almost 5. It was a big shock to me that he wasn't happy and that he had met someone else.

Yes, very much so. I think about divorceing him daily. Most of it come down to a lack of communication between us, plus a lot of attitude from him I can't f'in stand. We've been together going on 9 years, married 2. The strain started when my daughter was born. The lack of help with her, the lack of caring in how I feel she should be raised. He throws gigantic fits if she wakes up in the night and he has to take care of her, or change her diaper. I just had surgery yesterday, so I'm physically unable to care for her this week. But even last night on day 1 home he couldn't handle it himself. I was getting so pissed off. Like I can hardly move, but I'll get her! Ugh. Sigh. We'll figure it out.

We had a problem with spending time together. He leaves early for work, I spend all day with the little one & when he gets home- it's eat dinner (separately as one has to tend to baby), spend as much time as he can with the baby & sleep. It took us a little time to adjust our schedules around her schedule and find time for ourselves. Now that she can "self-play" longer it's getting easier. Have you done a date night to rekindle that communication and time together? We started doing that as well as just finding more time to spend together and have conversations.

There is always an adjustment period where we have struggled to get into a new routine and maybe some sleepless night fights but I would say no. We have 5 children and have never come to anything like this. I hope things get better and if you see fit that you both can work it out.
