Did you wait the full 6 weeks to have sex? I no infection is a risk but I am now 4 week pp and stopped bleeding a week ago. My ob gyn said to wait 6 weeks but my family dr said it is ok whenever I am ready?

I waited. For one, I wasn't ready to be pregnant again. Your body is highly fertile right after you have a baby so I didn't want to risk that. Two, my husband hates condoms and so I didn't want to risk any infection. Three, birth control wasn't effective yet. And fourth and last, I tore and bled out pretty bad so I wanted to make dang sure I was healed. Too many risks I thought.

In the U.K. We are told we can have sex as soon as we feel comfortable, there's no limit! Have sex whenever you feel comfy! I had an episiotomy and had sex around 5 weeks pp xx

Infection isn't the only risk, hemorrhaging is the big risk and reason they tell you to wait.

Not only is there risk or infection and hemorrhage but getting pregnant again very quickly because you're super fertile for a few months after baby is born. That alone was why I was terrified to have sex again.
