Should Checking for dialation hurt??

So today my dr checked to see if I was dialated and omg it hurt so bad!!  im sure its uncomfortable but this like really hurt like I felt like I shoulda been bleeding after.. I wasnt, but is that normal ? all day after ive had cramps and the girl at the front desk told me she was prob "scraping your membranes" to get it going, then I was kinda pissed.. they wanna induce me in the next 2 weeks so I was tHinking about refuaing to be checked (cause they wanna check again friday) but I just don't see the point if they are inducing. This is my first baby so I dont know what to think so if anyone has any knowledge or advise please help me lol :)

Yeah it can hurt especially if your cervix is high

You can refuse to be checked. Aside from the discomfort and pain, there also is no reason to do it because your dilation can go from a 1-10 in the course of minutes, hours, days, or weeks. No need to get uncomfortable, especially for no benefit. Good luck!

You'll wanna have them check for dilation so they can tell you if your cervix is favorable of being induced, from what I understand! I'm a FTM too though and hate getting checked too!

You know, I did not have a single one that hurt before yesterday. I am 37 weeks, and my doctor was held up in surgery, so I had to see another doctor. He was quite rough, one if those older doctors who had seen a thing or two in his day. As soon as he left the room, I immediately checked myself to see if I was bleeding. The whole rest of the day, I had HORRIBLE cramping and a giant increase in BH contractions. I came home, took a bath, and went to bed at 6:45. I even texted my friend who is a nurse to see if I needed to be worried! 😐

I've been checked three times; it was only PAINFUL the first time because my son's head was in a weird position.  The other two times it was more uncomfortable than painful; someone wriggling around in a tight spot.

Yes being checked hurts. I doubt you had membranes seept.

It can definitely hurt, it hurt for me each time and I had cramping/light spotting afterwards. You would know if you had a sweep. They cannot do one without telling you.
