I feel kinda stupid for asking this. But it is just a question that has been bothering me. I've attempted to look up the answers online. But I just need a bit of reassurance if I should or not.

So someone in my family on my mother's side has been recently diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer. And we found out that it is genetic. And it got me thinking. Should I get tested? My great grandmother on my father's side. So his mother's mom, was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed in her early 50's. Then my grandmother, his mom, was diagnosed with leukemia at age 30 and passed at age 53.

Now my great grandmother on my mother's side. So my grandfather's mother, passed from breast cancer in her early 60's. And I've been contemplating whether I should or not. Or am I just being paranoid. Because I know I can carry the mutation. Just, should I go? I would ask my mother who is a nurse, but we only found out about the cancer this past weekend that I feel it may be a bit much and a touchy subject.

Note: I am almost 20, and ten yrs goes by fast, I'm just asking cause I am nervous.
