Is it wrong of me to only use cruelty free makeup yet still eat animals that have more than likely been abused?

I go out of my way to use cruelty free makeup and beauty products to make sure no animals are harmed and abused from the testing. But is it wrong that I don't think twice about the food I'm eating? Surely we have all seen the living conditions and how the animals are killed. What do you think?

Personally, before I was pregnant I couldn't eat a vegan diet for health reasons. Now that I'm pregnant I definitely won't be able to because I'm anemic as well. I've tried a few times to go completely vegan but it always takes a tole on my health. However, I only use cruelty free makeup. If you're doing something positive, congratulations. There's no need to fixate yourself on what you're NOT doing. 👍🏼

I believe in doing what you can, not everyone can have a vegan diet (health reasons, price etc.). If you are still eating meat, you could try to shop more responsibly?

Of course every bit helps, but if you know that animals are abused, tortured, and raped for your food then why wouldn't you think twice about eating them? I guess I have a hard time understanding that.

Look, I'm not saying you're wrong. I think that's a bad choice of words, but it sounds hypocritical to me.

I have friends that only buy cruelty free, who abstain from fur and leather, which I think is awesome. I encourage it. I think that the demand for CF will continue to grow which will hopefully force companies to go completely CF. However, if they were to ask me if I felt it was hypocritical that they're still eating veal, eggs, steak, and pork... I would say yes. Have they? No, and I really don't feel it's my place to force my opinion about it down people's throats.

Every little bit counts. If you feel guilty you can start cutting back on eating meat. We eat more meat than we need as it is.

It's great that you're trying to make some type of change, but if you're having to ask this, then I think that you're feeling guilty yourself over it. Just start by reducing your meat/dairy intake. It will make you feel better about further effort. Like I said, it's great that you're trying to make some type of change, but I do find it strange that you still choose to eat meat that you know is sourced in cruel ways. Keep up the little changes, but consider asking yourself why you're still choosing to do something that makes you uncomfortable enough to ask these questions. If you're not ready to go vegan/vegetarian, free range meat may make you feel better about this situation.

Do what you can I'm the same with products as well, at my rate I am slowly cutting out meats and well eggs because I can't have dairy and haven't had it in years that was the easy one to eliminate

I don't think so. At least the animals you eat are killed for food. Animals used for makeup testing are left to suffer.

I've always wondered why vegans were SO obsessed with animal rights, but could care less about buying fair trade to help protect human rights and end human suffering and slavery. But that's just me.
