is eczema inherited?

Is eczema inherited? It's just my baby's daddy has it and he's got it really bad 😒 just wondering how it works?

It's on the same gene as allergies and asthma, which can be inherited. If one parent has allergies, the child already has a 25-50% chance of also having them. (I work at an allergist)

My 14 year has it and extremely bad at times...doctors kept saying he'll grow out of it but he hasn't yet...😒

A lot of people in my family have it on my dad's side. I have it and so does my 6 year old son. Currently pregnant. My husband has psoriasis or however you spell it.

It can be inherited, but it's not guaranteed. I have it as does my mom, but it flairs up it different spots. Just keep an eye on your baby and tell your pediatrician about anything that concerns you.

From what I understand it's a stress related disorder and not contagious or genetic
