flu/cold while pregnant

I woke up this morning with either a cold or the flu. At the first signs I started taking natural remedies (zinc, vitamin c etc). I called my obgyn and she recommended over the counter medications to take and suggested if it worsens to seek medical attention. I was just wondering if anyone has had a nasty cold/flu while pregnant? If so were there any major complications or no? I'm 21 weeks pregnant and of course, worried about everything. Especially my baby's well being during this time. Anything helps!
