Can I say no to stretch n sweep??!

I have a Dr appointment next Wednesday and they are wanting to do a membrane stretch n sweep to start being induced early. However, it's my father in laws funeral on the following Thursday and therefore not keen to have the sweep done. Do I have a right to say no to the dr under these circumstances??!

Sweeps are only effective in about 50% of women. I had mine swept four times with no results. Tell them no if you don't want it.

I had a membrane sweep a week before I actually went into labor. I don't really know that it for things "moving". You can always say no if you don't want it.

Tell them your concerns and have a conversation about it. Unless there's something major going on, they'lol probably just plan it for after the funeral.
