Anyone with kids- can you answer this?

Question

I've been babysitting for a family for about 2 months this now. I have been doing this since I was 15 and I'm great with kids. Their son is 3.5 yo and the past week or so, when his mom is about to walk out the door he HISTARICALLY cries and tells her he doesn't want her to go. As soon, and I mean AS SOON as she shuts the door behind her, the little shit stops crying and wants to play😂😫 I've never had this problem with any other family before. Why is he doing this? 
I don't want the mom to get the wrong idea because he's doing this (although when she gets home he always hugs and kisses me goodbye and says see you next time).

I'm a teacher and that often happens with kids who are not getting enough attention at home.

It's just phase , kids do that sometimes. It may have even worked for him another time, getting her to stay home longer. I'm sure mom knows her kid does this often, if she thought it was a problem with you she'd stop bringing him lol.

My son went through a faze of doing it when I would drop him off at daycare ( he only goes twice a week as I'm a stay at home mum) and I can tell you it's not because I don't give him enough attention. It's a faze and they get over it on their own.

This little "shit" in your words just wants his moms attention. I've worked in a daycare for awhile and have even seen school age kids cry for their mom then are fine after she leaves.
