Girl bye! ✋🏽 I NEVER wake a sleeping baby!  If my son is hungry he wakes out of his sleep and cries to tell me he's hungry! Use that time for you mama! To sleep or do housework!

For the first 3 weeks I was waking him (if he wasn't already awake) every 2.5 hours and then allowing him to wake up more before his feeding. By the end of the month, I let him sleep for 3 hours. By a month and a half I started allowing him to sleep for 3.5 hours. He is 2.5 months now and i feed him at midnight. He sleeps until 5 or 6am. Then he goes back to sleep until 8 or 9 ish.

My doctor recommended you wake them every 2.5-3 hours for the first month. If they go too long, become too hungry they can start getting too fussy to latch properly. Then they suck more air and it just becomes more pain for both of you. 
But everyone is different.

I have twins. When one wakes up I wake the other so I can tandem feed. It allows for more sleep.

Even though my baby never had problems gaining weight everyone's talk about baby not eating enough or me not producing enough milk freaked me out enough that we would wake her up to nurse. My now 8 month old still sleeps terribly and I wonder all the time if waking her up so much taught her not to sleep for long periods of time!

I would wake him or he would need feeding every 2-3 hours up until 2 weeks but that's because it took him that long to get back to birth weight. Now he's 11 weeks and overnight he can go 10-12 hours without eating. A family friend/pediatrician said not to let him go longer than 4 hours during the day however.
