when is the right time??

So you would think I was a pro at this by now! I have four children and my husband and I are trying for one more! I was wondering if I could get some opinions. This time around we aren't having any luck I think it's due to timing. My husband and I are at fences he says it's one day and I say another. Here's what's going on! My periods are semi regular sometimes it's 27 days apart and sometimes it's 28 days. I take the fertility test and I personally like to go by them but hubby likes to count 14 days. So last night around 10 pm I got a blinking smiley face which means ovulation is coming up. Tonight at 10 pm I took another test and now shows a solid smiley which means peak fertility. Day 14 isn't until another 4 days on Monday. What do you think? When do you think the right time is?? Any suggestions will be grateful!
