2 week old eats so much makes herself sick

She is breastfed but lately she has been rooting and latches great still but is eating so much that she will make herself sick and clearly uncomfortable. We were told by pediatrician and the LC not to offer a pacifier so soon but it's the only way she gets calm without overeating. Anybody else have to give a breastfed baby a pacifier? Did they get nipple confusion? I'm so worried I'm disrupting breastfeeding but it breaks my heart when she is so uncomfortable and pukes
