Can a cheater change?

Do any of you believe a Chester can change? I just found out my boyfriend has been cheating on me. My heart is broken. I can't lose him I've given him everything. I've put so much into this relationship that I just can't lose him. Do any of you think if we sit down and talk and try and work this out he will actually change?!

You can too lose him. He literally threw away everything you gave him. Why continue to put anything into it? Especially if you don't have kids, I ALWAYS advise to walk away.  And the answer is... Unless and until a cheater admits they have a bigger problem that allows them to cheat and hurt someone they love, they get help and can actually understand what that underlying problem is, and fix that particular issue... No, they will never change. I was married for 17 years and had 3 kids, a nice big house,  a vacation cabin on 20 Acres, took annual family vacations and had spent half my life with this man.... And walked away. My boys and I lived in a 500 Sq foot apartment for almost 2 years, I worked 3 jobs to support myself and still paid the mortgage he refused to pay. I took him to court multiple times and heard every day how he was seen with his mistress and then listen to Jim beg me back in the same hour. It was the hardest thing I ever did signing those divorce papers but it was so worth it for me to save myself. Now I'm married and expecting my daughter and I think every day how my ex was nowhere near the man I needed. My husband understands me like no other living person ever has. If I can walk away and end up happier than ever, knowing I put 18 years altogether into a relationship that ended... You can too. You can.

In the best case scenario,  yes...it could work. In my reality,  hell f*cking no!

My ex was a serial cheater.  He did not care about our kids, me, my health, the embarrassment,  nothing. I stayed for waaaaasaaay too long, and gave my all. I forgave him, even through the embarrassment. I wasted 17 years of my life.

This isn't a bitter comment, just my reality. If he can't respect you, go. Don't waste your time. Trust me, there are better options.

A cheater can cheat if they want to change. I've cheated a guy I dated many years ago. I loved him but was not in love with him. I regret not letting him go before I started messing around. At least I would have been a single lady doing me.

Depends on the person. I've cheated but don't cheat on my husband. Your bf has to WANT to stop cheating. You can choose to trust that he won't do it again but there's a possibility that he's just not a monogamous guy. Or you two aren't meant to be. Maybe he will change. It's a chance you can take.

No. I don't believe in once a cheater, always a cheater as a person. But if he cheated on you once he will most likely do it again.
