Is it my right to tell my baby's dad I don't want him at the hospital?

I'my boyfriend has cheated on me last night and I'm giving birth next week. I obviously don't want him anywhere near me. I'm just wondering if it's my right to tell him I don't want him at the hospital when the baby is born or if that just sounds like I'm using the baby as a weapon? That's not what I'm doing at all but he's cheated on me a week before our baby is going to be born I can't stand the thought of being around him. What would you do in my situation?

As long as you don't keep your daughter from him when she's older, there's nothing wrong with it. Labor is hard and emotional and the last thing you're going to want is to be thinking about that ass hole cheating on you! On another note, he wouldn't like if someone pulled that shit on his daughter so idk why the fuck he thinks it's okay to cheat on you ESPECIALLY right before you have your baby

Sorry, but he couldn't be in there with me. I'd be wanting to beat his ass whenever I saw him. Him not being in the delivery room isn't something you're doing to him. He played himself.

I'm a midwife, and truly believe that your wellbeing and the babies health need to be the focus in the labour room.  You need to be relaxed, supported and cared for during the birth as stress hormones can slow and hinder the labour.  So I'd pick a birth partner that can make you feel secure and focus on your needs, not make you worried and stressed.  
 
Choose who you think will best support you, and your ex can wait in the hospital and see the baby soon after the birth.  He does t have the right to see you during the labour and birth, when you're at your most vulnerable! So leave that job to someone who loves and cares for you! Xxx

He's got every right just cos he's a lousy partner the dad side has gotta be separated. However I'd feel the same as u do.  Only compromise is let him be at the hospital but not in the room and that way either who ever is birth partner or midwife can go show him baby when it's born or once ur all settled cleaned etc then he can. Don't tell him that you're in labour. 
Just go chill have a safe and healthy birth take sometime to bond with your child and once you feel like u can deal with his bullshit let him know u had the baby.

The midwives/nurses at the hospital can be great. If u tell them u only want pre approved visitors with a password they'll be like a motherfing forcefield repeling that piece of shit till you say its ok.

At least thats what happens here.

You need to be as calm and stress free as possible while in labor! Your emotions effect your baby. And he's just a straight up jack ass for even daring to do such a stupid thing. What goes through these guys minds ?
