Is it harmful to dye hair?

I'm 12 weeks and 6 days. I was told that as long as I'm in a well ventilated area it's fine because your body doesn't absorb too much of the chemicals from the dye and it's not known to be harmful to your baby. But I still want personal opinions whether it's harmful or not.

I'm a hairdresser and deal with the chemicals on a daily basis. It's fine :) my doc told me as long as the area is well ventilated. I color women's hair through all portions of pregnancy. It's completely fine.

I'm a stylist and our doc said I could to perform any color for the whole pregnancy. Too much of a risk of inhaling it, and touching it. We at every natural and decided to follow their lead. It's a huge income decrease but we are taking every precaution to be safe. There are enough chemicals that we can't avoid, so we want to do our best to avoid the ones we can. Granted many stylist continue working and don't mind the risk, it's a personal preference. If getting color I would for sure stay away from all over color or any color that touches the scalp. Foil application is best 👍
