when should I start buying baby stuff?

I'm 14 weeks and I'm expecting a baby girl at the end of July or first week of Aug. I'd love to have some opinions from mothers out there😊😊

I'm 12 weeks and I've already bought a few small items. I'm pretty much only buying stuff that's on sale right now. I'll probably start actually buying stuff around 20 weeks.

Also side question: did you do a blood test to find out gender? I know insurance doesn't usually cover that so I'm wondering how much it costs. I'm thinking about getting it done.

I'm 13w2d. Have bought my travel system and my nursery furniture is on order, finally bought some neutral first size stuff and 2 blankets and 3 towels yesterday. Very excited but also doing things on a budget so buying things when sales are on or baby events when things are cheaper xx

I'd buy the essentials, crib, car seat...and wait till after your baby  shower to buy the rest. Keep in mind your baby shower guest will likely buy your baby LOTS clothes.

I was going to ask this too!  I'm 13 weeks 4 days and we found out last week we're having a boy (through blood test).  I started a registry at babies r us but haven't bought anything yet. I don't expect anyone to buy us the big stuff we will need but there's a few little things I'd love to start buying but I'm really not sure when to start.  I was gonna wait till around 20 weeks maybe.

I'll be waiting until I'm about 20 weeks however some items will have to be ordered early due to waiting times like the pram I want.

I'm pregnant with our 3rd so we have most of the basic items already (crib, pack 'n play, strollers). It's still kind of early to be buying things. I totally understand the excitement, but I think we got our crib around 25/26 weeks with our first. I waited to buy most of my things until after the baby showers (which were usually around 30 weeks).  If you're really wanting to start buying, I'd suggest buying diapers and wipes. Having a stock pile of those really helps. Once the baby is born, having access to that in your home makes life a little easier :)

I bought a crib because it was on sale for a great price, but we are waiting to find out the gender before we buy anything else. Since you already know it's a girl, I say go for it!

I agree since you know a gender go ahead and start shopping. Something to keep in mind is maybe get the big items in gender neutral if you plan on having more children. When we found out we were having a girl I got gender neutral on the big stuff so if we have a boy this time I don't have to worry about buying a new play pen or carseat or getting comments about a boy in pink things.
