I need some advice. I'm 19 and am sexually active. I'm going to get into detail so bare with me! I've been in birth control since October never missed a pill. I've been a few hours late but that's it I've still taken it every night. Last week I got sick and my doctor prescribed me some antibiotics. I know that antibiotics can lower the effectiveness of birth control pills but this Past Tuesday I had unprotected sex (he withdrawled before he reached an orgasm)and then started spotting a day later. I've been spotting for 5 days now and according to my pills I should start my period in roughly 6 days. I'm also having period like cramps and am wondering if it could be my period starting off light. The spotting has gotten heavier today but I'm just wondering if it could have something to do with the antibiotics I was prescribed. Or if there's a chance of pregnancy. That was the only sexual experience I had, had for a few weeks and like I said, he withdrawled. My spotting started off light red and has been becoming a darker red, could it be possible that I just spot like this up until my period? I'm just confused. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.
