can anyone help me on picking a birth control?

I've never been on birth control. Am 19. And I already have a little boy. Am in a relationship now, which we do use condoms but we still a little scared of getting pregnant. I have really bad cramps and heavy periods anyways, since I had my son. Just wanted to know anyone that can help me pick the righ birth control?

I had the mirena for a few years but I switched to the NuvaRing because that is the best method for cramp free periods. I don't get awful cramps anymore with it.

I haven't had children, but I used to have long and heavy periods before I started the pill and would always freak out about my period even though my fiancé and I use condoms every time we have sex. I love the pill a lot because my periods come like clockwork so I no longer have anxiety about it and it's made my period lighter and shorter! Only occasionally will I have cramps that I can actually feel lol, the specific pill is called loestrin but a gyno may recommend a different one since you've already had a baby!

My Mirena was the BEST birth control I've ever used. If you have really bad cramps, a hormonal BC might work better. I stopped having periods altogether on Mirena.

Pill wise I like Lutera. I've tried the implant and the side effects sucked and it didn't stop my period, it just made it longer and irregular.
