How many in here have Medicaid? What are your thoughts about it?

I and my children are on Medicaid (I'm pregnant, they're children), and it's because my husband and I don't make enough money to afford even ACA premiums, let alone the insurance through our employer. We both work full time, making more than minimum wage. Honestly, I'm not sure what else to do to NOT be on it.

I live in Maryland n I get my prescriptions for free n my doctor visits r free. This had helped me so much during my pregnancy since I was high risk due to gestational hypertension that led to preeclampsia so I had doctor visits every week so I was n am grateful for it. My baby girl now has Medicaid so her visits r free as well

We had to go on Medicaid when I was pregnant with my daughter because we were insured through my son's father who passed away recently & with my preexisting seizure disorder could not find any insurance that would take us that was anywhere near what we could afford. I hate that some people abuse the system and make it harder for people like us who actually need it. If we get dropped from Medicaid with all these new changes being made in govt I am shit out of luck for delivery.

I'm not sure what my insurance is because I receive it through a CPS program because I was in it past the age of 16. I didn't receive any information about it, really. But if it is medicaid or whatever, it's wonderful. My medication is free, dental is free (I don't have issues with my teeth), eye exams have a $15 copay, but all other appointments are free. It was great when I had to go to my doctor every week and having a lot of blood work done.

I dont like it but its what we have to work with we dont make enough for private even aca (obamacare) was too much and before anyone says you get your health care for free no we dont we still have a co pay and we pay for prescriptions we just dont have a monthly premium or deductible and we pay both federal and state taxes so not everyone with assisstance is a free loader would i love to get off of medicaid yes is it possible no not at the moment
