Child Abuse doesn't stop when you're a teen.

Okay, this was gonna be an appreciation post about how amazing and understanding and perfect my boyfriend is and how he brought me food just to make sure I ate but then I remembered why he did in the first place and I'm pissed. The reason why he had to is because I live in a disaster of a home with my lazy alcoholic asshole of a father who doesn't care about anyone but himself. We live in a small trailer which is fine birthed state of it is not. He has no job and gets unemployment but only spends it on his beer and cigarettes and maybe a few groceries if absolutely necessary. We have a broken water pump and only occasionally get running water. And the hot water heater is barely functioning to so I always have to shower at someone else's house which is humiliating. The rest of the house is in ruins and the kitchen is a mess cause it's kinda hard to do dishes with no water. I still have a year and a half before I graduate and the only thing keeping me even remotely together is my amazing boyfriend. He has been right beside me for almost a year and never once judged me and was always so kind and patient and took care of me even if I fought him on it. He helps me when my father is drunk and angry and calms me down from my frequent panic attacks. But my point is that no one should have to live like this. I've told teachers and counselors and even some family members but since I'm sixteen they say I can handle it myself. I shouldn't have to. This is still child abuse. I can't even go stay at my moms again because there I get hit and treated like I'm nothing. I don't know what I did to deserve this but I will never be like them and my child will never feel like she/he is unloved by his/her parents ever. I just want to be able to feel like I have a home. And feel like I'm happy and comfortable, not feel like a prisoner.
