swelling?

Both my legs swelled up a whole lot most of the day. They felt super heavy and uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm 20w4d. Doctor told me it could be my diet but I do eat pretty healthy most of the time.

Standing or sitting for long periods of time can lead to swelling, especially in pregnancy. My ankles swelled up after sitting at a hockey game last week. I spent the next day in bed with my feet up, drank tons of water and they went back to normal. My dh also treated me to a pedicure which helps get the circulation going again!

My hands have been swelling lately (I'm 20 weeks). I've been trying not to worry too much about it. I drink about 100oz of water a day and have never really been concerned with sodium intake because of all the water, but lately I've been trying to be more aware of sodium and cut back some. It's hard because lately I love salty foods right now! I have an appointment next week and I'm going to ask my doctor then, but I think it's relatively normal.
