I'M LITERALLY SO CONFUSED

EDIT: As I've replied numerous times below, I decided to pass on the offer. As much as I might desire being with another girl, the idea of being with anyone else feels wrong. And I wouldn't be okay if he wanted a casual hookup. I'm happy he's supportive of me exploring my sexuality and wanted to give me the option, but he did admit he wasn't quite as okay with it as he let on. I'm perfectly content with our relationship being just the two of us. I love him too much to risk messing something up because I wanted something he wasn't okay with. Thanks everyone for the advice.

I would definitely think more about this. Because what's good for the goose is good for the gander. So, if you don't think you would be OK with him doing a hook up, then you'd better not do it. I would simply say to him that if the tables were turned, you are not sure that you would be OK with sharing him with anyone else and therefore you've made the decision not to do it. If you would be Ok if the tables were turned, then I don't see the problem. He's giving you the green light to do what you need to do to explore your own sexuality. Just be aware that this is going to be a two-way street. In my opinion, this could cause major problems in your relationship, or it could be the beginning of a polyamorous thing that you are both OK with. So keep talking to him about it and choose wisely.

If not, be prepared for him possibly throwing this in your face if he wants a hook-up that you don't approve of.

Well, my partner knew I was bisexual and told me it wouldn't matter to him if I hooked up with a female, in the first year or two of our relationship. However, he has since changed his mind and now says he wouldn't be cool with it. But he doesn't stick to his word sometimes, will tell me something and out if the blue change his mind, and just assume I already knew. But if you know you can depend on him being honest with you, and he's not just saying what he thinks you want him to say, you might make this work. Some people do good in relationships that aren't monogamous, but there's always the chance that it can ruin your relationship. Honesty is so important, so if you're gonna do it, take it slow, talk with him a lot about boundaries and what he isn't cool with.

That's definitely a hard situation the first guy I was with we lost our virginitys to each other and had been together probably 2 years when this subject came up. I was perfectly fine being with just him but he " wanted more girls under his belt " before he settled down, we was like 18 & 19 at the time, and instead of realizing he wasn't on the same level maturity & emotionally as I was, I fought and tried to make him settle down and in the end he ended up cheating multiple times. Sometimes you have to let someone grow and exsplore and when it's all said and done if it's meant to be y'all will get back together. I'm sorry your going through this it really sucks.
