Is love a choice?

One of my FaceBook friends shared this and I wanted to see what you guys think. I personally believe that love is not a choice. The person and people in your life that you love and love you back are there for a reason. It is our choices that affect this love. You choose to take action on that love. You choose to make it work. But the love itself? That is not a choice. God has things worked out for us but our free will, now that is the kicker.

I would say yes and no. I don't think you get to choose who you fall in love with or who you're attracted to, but I do believe it's your choice to act on those feelings.

I believe you and your partner have to choose each other every single minute of every single day over and over again.

In marriage you have to make the choice to love your spouse on a daily basis... Especially during hard times.

It is a choice in some regards. It is a choice to open up and let yourself love and be loved by someone. Just as much as it is a choice to close yourself off and not let yourself be loved and love someone. So in a way, yes, it's a choice. But thatnis a very loaded question with no easy answer.

God gave me my soulmate. He wasn't my type or anything. But from the moment I met him we just belonged together. 6+ years later and we still feel the same way. I love him and I always will.
