Is Birth Control good for regulating period?

My period came on Nov 28 and went off on Jan 13. I was late for like 10 days and it's just now coming back on. My doc told me that I could get on birth control or just wait a couple months to see how it goes. Please let me know of your experience with birth control.

I'm on the pill and i always know when mine is gonna come- at the end of the pill packs. i love it

I just started it. So far on first week I'm having really heavy bleeding. And it's not time for my period. So you might get a lot of heavy bleeding the first few months it really sucks

My expirence with it, was awful. I've tried Mutipul pills, the arm implant and I couldn't eat I got so sick every time. The pills sent me into the hospital for 3 days for not being able to keep anything down and the arm implant made my heart hurt and give me heart palpitations. I get cysts on my overies the size of tennis balls about every 3 months.. and it sucks

in my experience and other people i know, it can stop your period for months and months of even years and if it does come it can be a really long period. it kinda makes it all over the place
