No doubt! No trust = no relationship. Trust is the foundation of any good relationship.... without it everything you've built on that foundation will come crumbling down. I won't torment myself by staying in a relationship with someone I can't trust.

Its deeper than a yes or no answer. You have to analyze the relationship, the person who cheated on you, the details/reasons surrounding the betrayal (though no reason makes it okay) and if you believe it will be worth it to try at it again. The most important thing is to put yourself first and figure out everything else after that.

It's definitely a deal breaker. I can never understand why girls take back their so who cheats or vice versa. Their partner was more concerned with having sex with another person than the feelings of their bf/gf. If you feel the urge to cheat, why not just end the relationship? Every cheater I've known has done it multiple times. They don't change, they just get sneaker. They may not do it in every relationship, but as soon as the urge comes back you bet they'll do it again. People need to learn to respect themselves, and that a cheating partner doesn't deserve them.

I wouldn't forgive a cheater. If you're unhappy with me for whatever reason, I would prefer that you end the relationship with me instead of cheat. There is no excuse for cheating. And I could be wrong but most people who cheat will do it again. 2 of my exes cheated on me and that was the end for me. As soon as I found out, it was over. I can't make myself crazy checking his phone and having to know his every move to see if he's being faithful.  I need 100% trust in a relationship.

I don't believe, "once a cheater, always a cheater." People change every day, for better or worse. It would really depend on the circumstances, their motivation, the health of the relationship, and whether or not they were remorseful and willing to actively seek counseling for the issue. Ultimately, though, I'd probably break-up. I'm super principled and I take my relationships seriously, and I'd find it difficult not to lose all respect for my partner if they betrayed me.

I guess it may depend on if i found out on accident of if he came to me about it. One would show me he is remorseful for his actions... Where as if i found out, confront him and then he apologizes.. I feel like that happens only because someone is sorry they got caught.

I did. So me and my so had just moved in together and I was already pregnant. One day I got curious and got into his phone and turns out the beginning of our relationship he was cheating the WHOLE time. Not just with one girl. But with multiple girls. I forgave him for the sake of our son. But oh my if it happens again. I'm gone. Cheating doesn't happen accidentally so there are no excuses.
